White Taichin beaten rice is a Nepali-style flattened rice made from polished white paddy, giving lighter, softer flakes with a milder flavour than the red variety.
How to use it. Soak the flakes briefly in water or milk until they soften, then eat them as they are, or temper them with oil, onion, spices and vegetables in the same way as poha.
Best for. Best for a light breakfast, an easy-to-digest snack, or a quick savoury flaked-rice dish.
